Families can feed 10 people for $45: What to know about Lidl’s Thanksgiving dinner deal

Lidl is promising customers a Thanksgiving meal that’ll cost them under $5 per person, the company announced this week.
The 21-item list will feed 10 people and go for $45 this year. That’s less than $4.50 per person, a Lidl spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY this week. The items will be on sale until Nov. 27.
According to the grocery store, this year’s Thanksgiving list includes a Shady Brook Farms Frozen Whole Turkey, fresh yellow onions, russet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and Hawaiian Sweet Rolls.
“This is the lowest Lidl U.S. has ever sold this number of items for a Thanksgiving dinner,” Lidl said in a statement Wednesday. “It’s priced less than national competitors and features nearly double the number of items.”
According to the company, the 2023 list included 12 Thanksgiving necessities for less than $30.

Other retailers are also offering Thanksgiving meal deals
Other chains have announced Thanksgiving bundle deals this month. They include:
- ALDI - Feed 10 people for less than $47 (less than $4.70 per person)
- Walmart - Feed 8 people for less than $54 (less than $7 per person)
- Sam’s Club - Feed 10 people for less than $100 (less than $10 per person)
Target also announced this month that customers can feed four people for $20.
Discount store Dollar General is also offering a deal with its buy 2, get 1 free program. The Dollar General deal comes in three varieties:
- Pumpkin Pie Bundle: Buy a 6-count Keebler mini pie crust and a 12-ounce container of Eagle Brand evaporated milk, then get one free 15-ounce Clover Valley canned pumpkin.
- Green Bean Casserole Bundle: Buy a 10 ½-ounce can of Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup and a 2.8-ounce container of French’s fried onions, then get a free 14 1⁄2-ounce can of Clover Valley green beans.
- Sweet Potato Casserole Bundle: Buy a 29-ounce can of Bruce’s yams and a 2-pound bag of Clover Valley brown sugar, then get a free 10-ounce bag of Kraft mini marshmallows.
